Malaysia Airlines New Cabin Baggage Policy

Dear Valued Customer,
Malaysia Airlines New Cabin Baggage Policy
In preparation for Malaysia Airlines entry into the Oneworld Alliance, the Cabin Baggage policy will be streamlined for all classes of travel systemwide effective 15 May 2012. These changes are in line with industry best practices. 
Class of Travel
Current
Changes eff. 15 May 2012
First
2 pieces of cabin baggage weighing not more than 15 kg (in total)
2 pieces of cabin baggage maximum 7 kg each
Business
2 pieces of cabin baggage weighing not more than 10 kg (in total)
2 pieces of cabin baggage maximum 7 kg each
Economy
1 piece weighing 5 kg
1 piece maximum 7 kg
All cabin baggage shall be declared and weighed at the check-in counters. Checks may also be conducted at various points before boarding by respective airport authorities. If the cabin baggage exceeds the Policy, passengers will be required to pay applicable excess baggage charges and their bags will be placed in the cargo hold. In addition, all cabin baggage must conform to local laws and security measures applied at the respective airports. 
We would like to update all our customers that the Malaysia Airlines Golden Lounge at the Satellite Building will be closed for enhancement and upgrading work from midnight of 8 May to 18 June 2012.
Below is the cabin baggage dimension:
High – 56 cm
Width – 36 cm
Length – 23 cm

You may bring any ONE of the following items with your cabin baggage
*1 notebook/laptop OR a briefcase OR a camera bag OR a binocular bag

Other items allowed:
*1 small handbag
*1 walking stick
*1 fully collapsible baby stroller

Passengers travelling with infants (below 24 months old), may also bring:
*1 piece bag containing baby food and nappies, not more than 5 kg
*1 carry-cot

Frequently Asked Questions?  
1. What is my cabin baggage allowance? 
    • First/Business class 7 kg x 2pieces
    • Economy class 7 kg x 1 pieces.
    • Dimensions for each piece remains at 56 x 36 x 23 cm.

2. What happens if my cabin baggage is too heavy or too large to take onboard? 
    If your cabin baggage exceeds the specifications of the class of travel, the bag will have to be checked-in and
    excess baggage charges will be collected where applicable.

3. What else can I bring onboard apart from my cabin baggage?
    You may bring any ONE of the following items with your cabin baggage
    • 1 notebook/laptop OR a briefcase OR a camera bag OR a binocular bag
       In addition to the cabin baggage, the following personal items are allowed:
    • 1 small handbag
    • 1 walking stick
    • 1 fully collapsible baby stroller

Passengers travelling with infants (below 24 months old) may also bring:
    ••• 1 piece bag containing baby food and nappies, not more than 5 kg
    ••• 1 carry-cot

4. As an interline passenger travelling on MH, would I be affected by the changes in Single Hand
    Carry Baggage Policy (SHBCP) of 7kgs/piece to be implemented 15 May 2012?
    No. If your cabin baggage meets the 7kg policy’s requirement.
    If your cabin baggage does not meet the 7kg policy’s requirement, you will be charged excess baggage.

Please adhere strictly to the above requirement.

    lama dah tak naik MAS sejak AA memanjang buat promo giler2 punya...last naik MAS masa gi Bandung tahun 2010 dulu...apapun, MAS punya service mmg terbaikk!!
