WillKey™ - Malaysia’s First Will Registry, Introduces Its Services at the 73rd Annual General Meeting of the Malaysian Bar
KUALA LUMPUR, 20 March 2019 – WillKey™, Malaysia’s first centralised Will registry were present at the 73rd Annual General Meeting of the Malaysian Bar to introduce their concept and services to the members attending the meeting. Held on 16 March 2019 at Wisma MCA in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, the Bar Council meeting saw a total of 835 registered members and partners in attendance.
The presence of WillKey™ at the meeting was able to address one of the Bar Council’s priorities in the new term – bringing improvement to issues faced by members. With WillKey™ serving as a facility to register, store and search for Wills, whereby testators can register information about the whereabouts, or deposit copies of their Wills, this can improve the efficiency of the estate administration process, benefiting both clients and lawyers.

It also serves as a platform for lawyers and Will writing service providers to register clients’ Wills, encouraging people, be it testators or solicitors, to register and store Wills with WillKey™ to make the search process for a Will less tedious.
WillKey™ intends to provide affordable services without compromising its security and credibility. A testator only needs to register once with WillKey™ with a one-time fee of RM133.33. Will storage subscription fees are available for as low as RM3.33 per month. WillKey™’s fees were designed with affordability in mind, to avoid this investment into ensuring the security and safe retrieval of a Will becoming an undue burden.
